William Floyd High School, located in Mastic Beach, is the home of the Colonials—one of the most storied and successful football programs in Suffolk County and all of New York State. Serving a large and diverse student body of over 2,700, William Floyd’s football tradition is built on decades of championship runs, a fiercely loyal fan base, and a culture of discipline and pride that permeates the entire community.

2024 Season Review

The 2024 season once again saw the Colonials at the pinnacle of Section XI Division I football. William Floyd finished with an outstanding 10-1 record, going undefeated in regular season division play and capturing the Section XI Division I championship. The Colonials kicked off the year with a thrilling 36-29 victory over rival Longwood in the Parkway Power Bowl, setting the tone for a campaign defined by resilience and big-game performances.

Throughout the regular season, William Floyd’s offense was explosive, posting decisive wins over Lindenhurst (49-14), Sachem North (35-7), and Brentwood (41-0). Their defense was equally formidable, recording multiple shutouts and consistently limiting opponents’ scoring opportunities. In the playoffs, the Colonials continued their dominance, culminating in a hard-fought championship win over Ward Melville at Stony Brook University’s LaValle Stadium.
