Southampton High School, located on the East End of Long Island, is home to the Mariners—a football program with deep roots, a proud tradition, and a strong sense of community. With an enrollment of approximately 1,000 students, the Mariners compete in Suffolk County’s Section XI Division IV, where they are known for their resilience and sportsmanship.

2024 Season Review

The 2024 Mariners battled through a competitive Division IV schedule, finishing with a 4-5 overall record. The season was highlighted by a dramatic 27-20 overtime win against Mattituck-Greenport-Southold and a hard-fought 21-14 victory over Center Moriches. Despite challenges with roster depth and injuries, Southampton’s defense kept the team competitive, holding three opponents to under 14 points.

The Mariners narrowly missed the playoffs but demonstrated growth and unity throughout the season. Senior running back Elijah Brooks led the offense with over 900 rushing yards, while linebacker Aiden Martinez anchored the defense with a team-high 75 tackles. Several underclassmen gained valuable varsity experience, setting the stage for a promising 2025 campaign.
