With a community of roughly 31,000 residents and 1,600 students, Centereach competes in Section XI Division II. The Cougars are known for their determination and school spirit.

Centereach High School, located in the heart of central Suffolk County, is part of the Middle Country Central School District and is recognized for its commitment to academic growth, opportunity, and preparing students for college, careers, and lifelong learning. With an enrollment of approximately 1,400 students, Centereach offers a comprehensive curriculum that includes Advanced Placement (AP), honors, dual-enrollment, and career-focused courses, as well as a wide array of enrichment and extracurricular opportunities.

2024–2025 Academic Year Highlights

The 2024–2025 school year saw Centereach High School celebrate a record number of AP Scholars and National Honor Society inductees. Students excelled in Science Olympiad, Mathletes, DECA, and the school’s acclaimed music, theater, and visual arts programs. The Class of 2025 earned acceptances to SUNY, CUNY, and a variety of selective private colleges and universities, with several students receiving scholarships for academics, STEM, and the arts.
